DENVER (KDVR) — Residents were evacuated, and an elementary school had to cancel class on Monday due to an incident at an oil and gas facility northeast of Greeley.
The Galeton Fire Protection District in northern Colorado posted on Facebook that at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, crews responded to an incident at an oil and gas facility south of Weld County Road 74. A nearby elementary school called it a "containment issue."

Due to its location on the edge of the evacuation zone, the Galeton Elementary School will be closed on Monday.
Galeton Fire said the road closures go beyond the evacuation zone, and people are asked to keep away while crews continue to work.
Residents are asked to refrain from ditch burning until further notice.
The Colorado State Patrol, Weld County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Office of Emergency Management, Public Works, Eaton Fire, and Greeley Fire HazMat are assisting on-site.
