We can only imagine how tough this must be for him, especially not being able to witness the day-to-day moment in his kids' lives. But it sounds like John is keeping his head up and maintaining a positive attitude, choosing to be grateful for the experiences he still has.

And John isn't letting the challenges with his sight hold him back. His new collaboration album with Brandi Carlile, Who Believes in Angels?, was released on Friday, much to the delight of fans. As you can see in this video performance, the two of them sound nothing short of incredible together.
