Travis Kelce is returning for at least one more season with the Kansas City Chiefs as the battle for his signature post-retirement hots up.
The legendary tight end was denied an unprecedented three-peat as the Philadelphia Eagles dominated February’s Super Bowl.
Kelce is out to set the record straight after a dismal loss in New OrleansGettyKelce hinted after the defeat that he could join his brother, Jason, in walking away from the game after years of brutal hits took their toll on his body.
But he has decided to run it back with quarterback Patrick Mahomes and see out the final year of his contract, with an extension still a possibility.
When he does call it a day, Kelce will not be short of offers.
As well as his $100 million New Heights podcast deal with Amazon, the three-time world champion has made initial forays into acting alongside several endorsements and other business ventures.
There is also his brief stint as girlfriend Taylor Swift‘s backup dancer.
His relationship with the pop megastar alone is enough to set the Chiefs phenom up for life and a career in broadcasting is potentially on the horizon.
Jason is already working for ESPN. If Travis followed suit he would be the most decorated player to do so since Tom Brady signed a 10-year, $375million deal with Fox Sports.
The network has an opening after broadcasting legend Jimmy Johnson called it a day after the Super Bowl.
Per Front Office Sports, another history-making tight end, Rob Gronkowski, is set to step into a bigger role as bosses keep one eye on Kelce’s feature in the league.
It could swiftly turn into a bidding war as rival CBS Sports also has vacated air time on the desk following J.J. Watt‘s move into the booth.
GettyBrady’s debut season saw him improve steadily on the call[/caption] Jason is enjoying his retirement and made a surprise WWE cameoFront Office Sports has been told that Nate Burleson and Matt Ryan are in line to step up on the studio show.
“CBS may play it cool until a current star like Travis Kelce of the Chiefs or Cam Jordan of the Saints retires,” the report added.
Watt began as a studio analyst following his retirement in 2022 and will replace Charles Davis as play-by-play commentator on the No.2 game broadcast team as the latter takes over from Gary Danielson, who is retiring after the 2025 college football season.
Kelce is unlikely to match the huge $37.5 million annual package awarded to seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady.
The GOAT is doing everything he can to be as successful in the booth as he was on the field and turned to Kelce for advice on how to entertain fans.
“He’s gently quizzed Travis for tips on how to be quick on his feet and keep the commentary exciting for fans,” a source reportedly told Life & Style. “It’s about showmanship and Tom knows it.

“You gotta hand it to Tom – he knows when he needs help and he knows exactly where to go to ask for it.
“The goal in Tom’s first year on the air at Fox is to not embarrass himself and to not blow the handful of very big blockbuster games he’ll be broadcasting this year.
“Nobody is pretending there isn’t a steep learning curve when it comes to getting good on the air, live in front of millions of fans.’
If Kelce can win a fourth ring as part of the dominant Chiefs franchise that has appeared in five of the last six Super Bowls, it could add plenty of bargaining power and see him join the list of best-paid broadcasters.
If not, he has plenty of options to fall back on.
