A NEPO baby with a very famous boybander dad has made it through to the second round of American Idol.
Amid complaints that there are too many nepo-babies on the show, the son of a very famous popstar has made it through to the next round of the iconic American talent show.

Judged by Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, the singers who had made it through the first round of auditions all performed again.
Baylee Littrell, 22, was among the 64 singers who would move into the next round.
The young and very talented singer is actually the son of Backstreet Boys hunk Brian Littrell.

The young singer told host Ryan Seacrest that his father told him: “Just be yourself.”
He also said that his dad issued him a warning, saying that coming from a musical family does “open a lot of doors” but it can also create “a lot of animosity”.
Baylee then crooned the song he wrote called Hey Jesus, which he penned in the wake of losing his grandmother.
“My grandma was my best friend. With my dad being away on tour, she would always step in,” he explained.
“She understood me like not many people do. My grandma passed away three years ago almost.
“I thought she was gonna be around for moments like this. I never expected to lose her, so when I did, I questioned everything.
“And I’d pushed away faith, thought I would not find it again. This song kind of helped me find it,” he said while choking back tears.

After Baylee performed, judge Lionel Richie was quick to comment.
“Boy that’s great lyrics,” he said of the song that the young man had written.

Baylee was later announced to have made it through to the next round.
When Baylee auditioned for Idol initially, his famous father claimed his son was “10 times more talented” than he was.
Fans have now fumed over Baylee being a “nepo baby”.
“Nepo babies doing american idol kinda ruins the point of the show,” penned one person on X.
Another said: “I’m sorry I don’t care WHO your daddy is … if you’ve already had a record deal, you should NOT be allowed to audition for American Idol.
“That’s so not fair to these kids that have no other opportunity other then this show.”
In 2019, Baylee released his debut album 770-Country, which was released on his parents’ label, BriLeigh Records.
UNFAIR ADVANTAGE?
Fellow American Idol Contestants, who are starring alongside Baylee this series find it unfair that he is on the show.
“I do feel like it’s unfair but that’s the way the industry is. The way the world is, really,” a contestant on this season of American Idol exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
The singing hopeful added: “Everyone gets along great with [Baylee] so it’s nothing against him personally. He’s talented.
“But isn’t the whole point of this show to give people who have no prior connections or chance of making it a shot?
“Not only is he included but they highlighted him more than any of us. Again, I get it, that’s the way the world works.
“But the question is, is it fair? And the answer to that, to me, is – no.”
NEPO ROW
This comes shortly after Lola, 19, crooned a Kacey Musgraves country hit before she did she revealed her famous roots in her audition the other week.
Wowing the judges as well as viewers at home, Lola stunned everyone when she brought out her famous mom.
Carnie Wilson, the daughter of Brian Wilson, is Lola’s mom, and she appeared in the audition room before her daughter performed for the judges.
The 56-year-old singer is famous for co-founding the pop music trio Wilson Phillips with her younger sister Wendy.
Unlike Baylee, Lola was sent home after her second performance.
When the nepo-baby sent home, she said: “This has been such a roller coaster, and I love roller coasters.
“That’s a fun fact about me. I should have shared that as my fun fact.”
