Muni Long is the latest artist to join the Honda Stage program as part of their music discovery platform and Saturday night, March 29th, saw the brand take their support to the main stage as they presented her with the Rising Star Award at Billboard Women in Music 2025 in Los Angeles.
Honda exec Megan Amic took to the red carpet ahead of the show to speak about the partnership, which comes at an exciting time amid award wins, festival booking and more for the R&B superstar. “She’s such a versatile talent and she is just so inspirational, really sticking true to herself, really authentic and that really aligns with the Honda’s ethos.” the exec told Billboard’s Judy Sanchez ahead of the star-studded show. “We’re really excited to support her and celebrate her success.”
In addition to the music discovery platform, Amic spoke to the ways in which Honda continues to support women in the music industry. “As you look around, women are just a driving force in the music industry and topping the charts from pop to country, R&B to Latin. They’re just a huge, huge piece of the success in music and we’re always about trying to help and showcase these diverse stories and uplift women. That’s why we’re so excited to be here. Billboard has done a really phenomenal job putting together this program of Women in Music and showcasing all this great talent,” she explained, adding that she’s also a massive fan-girl of Doechii, a former recipient of the Rising Star Award presented by Honda Stage in 2023.
As for Long, the star also shared her support for women in the industry during her acceptance speech, particularly shining a light on Black women for their heavy contributions to the culture. During the award show, the star brought her single, “Superpowers,” to the forefront, performing the R&B power ballad for the YouTube Theater audiences.
