After the actor, 55, was asked about his experience filming the 1998 film Senseless during a panel at 90s Con in Hartford, Conn., over the weekend — for which Parade was present — Lillard opened up about how he was seemingly blinded by his own insecurities at the time, and why he doesn't feel that way today.
"First of all, it is very funny," he began. "There's a moment in my life, [and] this is my own insecurities, but we just talked about it — that movie, I felt like I was kind of ugly, and now I look at those pictures, and I'm like, 'Oh my God, I was so cute.' I was!"
In the 1998 comedy, Lillard stars as Tim LaFlour opposite Marlon Wayans, David Spade, Tamara Taylor and more. For the film, Lillard switched up his look, sporting bleached blonde hair and numerous facial piercings.
He continued: "He leads with passion, he's underrated as an actor, [and] he's underrated as a leader on set."
