Marcus Adams Jr., a 6-foot-8 sophomore at Cal State Northridge, committed to Arizona State men’s basketball after entering the transfer portal on Monday, On3’s Joe Tipton reported on Saturday.
The forward averaged 16.1 points (on 52.6% shooting), 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists last season while competing for the Matadors in the Big West Conference. He only missed one of 33 possible games (20 starts) and played 28.9 minutes per contest.
Adams was CSUN’s leader in points per game and total 3s made (62 of 157). He surpassed the 20-point mark in 11 games.
Adams scored two points (1-for-4 shooting) and had five rebounds and three assists in CSUN’s lone postseason game against UC Santa Barbara in the Big West Championship quarterfinals.
Besides taking home a pair of Big West Player of the Week awards, Adams was also named to the All-Big West Second Team.
The native of Torrance, California, also played at BYU his freshman season. Adams only appeared in one game for the Cougars.
In high school, Adams was ranked the No. 65 overall prospect in the class of 2023, according to On3.
