Baseball roundup: Edison ends Newport Harbor’s winning streak ...Middle East

Cody Kruis scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to give Edison a 9-8 walk-off win over Newport Harbor in a Sunset League game Friday at Edison High.

Kruis singled to lead off the seventh inning and advanced to third base via a sacrifice bunt and a groundout.

Gavin Johnson and Mason Gerhardt each had two hits and two RBIs for Edison (8-6, 2-4). Jordan Alvarez also drove in two runs for the Chargers.

Wyatt Gahm had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs for Newport Harbor (9-2, 5-1). Cameron Hatfield and Gavin Guy each had two hits with a double and Hatfield drove in a run.

Edison snapped an eight-game winning streak for Newport Harbor.

Also in the Sunset League:

Fountain Valley 4, Corona del Mar 3: New Mexico State signee Tyler Peshke hit a two-run home run for Fountain Valley.

Miles Hiskey went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI for Fountain Valley (8-6, 2-3). Logan Hunt got the win on the mound with 4⅔ shutout innings and five strikeouts.

Los Alamitos 6, Marina 3: Cal Poly SLO signee Devin Porch went 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for Los Alamitos.

Wyatt Joyce had two hits with a double and two RBIs and Kaden Carrion had two hits with a double and one RBI. Hudson Binder got the win for Los Alamitos (11-2-2, 4-2) and Ryan McKemy got the save.

Luke Pratali went 2 for 3 with a stolen base and two RBIs for Marina (8-7, 1-5). Max Conde had a double and a RBI.

In the Boras Classic:

Huntington Beach 9, Vista Murrieta 1: University of San Diego signee Jayton Greer had a home run and six RBIs for Huntington Beach.

Oregon State signee John Petrie III also hit a home run for Huntington Beach (9-1) and Ethan Porter had two hits with a RBI. San Diego State signee Jake Frohn was the winning pitcher allowing one run in four innings.

Carlsbad 1, JSerra 0 (10 innings): Otto Graham allowed just three hits in eight shutout innings for JSerra. Graham also had five strikeouts.

UC Santa Barbara signee Jordan Marian had two hits with a double and two stolen bases for JSerra (5-5). Shane D’Arcy added two hits and two stolen bases.

Aquinas 7, Santa Margarita 3: Santa Margarita was held to just two hits in a loss to Aquinas.

Brody Schumaker had a hit and scored a run for Santa Margarita (8-4) and Carter Enoch had a hit with a RBI.

Cathedral Catholic 4, Mater Dei 1: Mater Dei loaded the bases in the seventh, but couldn’t push any runs through in a loss to Cathedral Catholic.

Sebastian Navarro had two hits with a double and a stolen base for Mater Dei (9-2). Ezekiel Lara drove in a run for the Monarchs.

In the Golden West League:

Costa Mesa 15, Buena Park 0: Will Clark pitched a no-hitter for Costa Mesa (9-5, 3-1). Clark had four strikeouts and added a double with two RBIs at the plate.

Aiden Comte had two hits with a double, stolen base and two RBIs. Mateo Navarro had four hits with two doubles and four RBIs.

In the South Coast League:

Trabuco Hills 5, Aliso Niguel 1: Trabuco Hills beat Aliso Niguel at home to win the season series 2-1.

Tyler Hill had a stolen base and two RBIs for Trabuco Hills (10-2-1, 2-1). Amedeo Miller had a triple with a RBI and Sam Crouse got the win on the mound.

Vanderbilt signee Cooper Flemming had two hits for Aliso Niguel (11-5, 1-2) and Brandon Schaff had a RBI.

In the Sea View League:

San Clemente 3, San Juan Hills 0: Stanford signee Mike Erspamer pitched a four-hit shutout with eight strikeouts for San Clemente (7-9, 1-2.

Kai Cesare had two hits with a RBI for the Tritons and Kaden Raymond added a RBI double. Finn Plasso had a double with a RBI.

Jake Vuoso and David Reeves each had two hits for San Juan Hills (8-7, 2-1).

In the Orange League:

Bolsa Grande 21, Santa Ana Valley 1: Bolsa Grande scored six runs in three of the first four innings and had 19 hits.

Nick Vazquez had four hits with a double and four RBIs for Bolsa Grande (5-5, 2-1). Julian Mendoza went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs. Damien Montes De Oca went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs.

In the Empire League:

Ocean View 2, Laguna Hills 1: Austin Aldous pitched a complete game and allowed zero earned runs for Ocean View (7-7, 3-1).

Zeke Case had a RBI and Evan Simonds had a triple for the Seahawks.

Christian Sigaty pitched well for Laguna Hills (7-6, 1-3) allowing three hits in six innings with four strikeouts. Damian Youngman drove in a run and Nate Medina had two hits.

Fullerton 8, Calvary Chapel 3: Zach Fany and Caleb Brown each had three hits and combined for five RBIs for Fullerton (8-3-1, 2-0).

Malachi Meni had a double with two RBIs and Caden Wise allowed just one hit in five innings on the mound.

In the Coast League:

Estancia 7, Century 2: Nico Viramontes pitched a complete game and allowed just four hits for Estancia (7-6, 2-1).

Viramontes also went 3 for 3 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. Miles Dodge and Sawyer Atkinson also had RBIs for the Eagles.

In the Orange Coast League:

Garden Grove 4, Valencia 3: Rohan Ramos had 10 strikeouts and allowed zero earned runs in a complete game effort for Garden Grove (9-5, 3-0).

Jose Fernandez had two hits with a stolen base and drove in a run for Garden Grove. Khai Anderson had a RBI single.

In the Crestview League:

Villa Park 6, El Dorado 3: Villa Park had 12 hits in a home win over El Dorado.

Joseph Ramirez went 3 for 3 with a RBI for Villa Park (9-4, 2-2). Aidan Young went 2 for 4 with a double and Shawn Romero had two RBIs. Logan Hoppie pitched three innings of no-hit ball to earn the save for the Spartans.

In nonleague games:

Sonora 8, Oxford Academy 2: Robby Blaine had 11 strikeouts in five innings for Sonora.

Anthony Escamilla had two hits with a double and three RBIs for Sonora (8-5). Ryan Lietzau added two RBIs for the Raiders.

Kennedy 8, Moreno Valley 3: Daniel Monge went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs for Kennedy (9-8).

Travis Bergmann had a triple with two RBIs and Tyler Onofre drove in a run.
