The singer’s official Instagram account posted a flashback video clip along with some historical facts about Collins’ 1984 hit, “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),” which was released 41 years ago on March 26.
“Due to being on tour with @genesis_band at the time, Phil sent the unfinished track to Hackford who loved it and insisted he finish it for the film’s soundtrack,” the post reads.
A clip from the song’s music video shows Collins performing the song in what looks like pouring rain as well as clips from the movie, which starred Jeff Bridges, Rachel Ward, James Woods and others.
“I can’t listen to this song without crying. It’s hauntingly beautiful. ?,” another one added.
“How freaking good do you have to be to have an unfinished , throw-away track end up winning you a Grammy? THAT good.❤️???,” wrote another.
