SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Ricci Wynne, the San Francisco influencer known as "RawRicci415" to legions of social media followers, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday.
Before his arrest, Wynne was one of the city's most high-profile neighborhood watchdogs.
The anti-crime activist was arrested at San Francisco International Airport after he stepped off a flight from Miami on November 24, 2024, according to an indictment filed on March 18 in U.S. District Court Northern District of California San Francisco. He was arrested at the airport on suspicion of felony pimping.
In the indictment, prosecutors state that in April and October of 2022, Wynne induced or enticed two minors to "engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct." Prosecutors alleged that Wynne produced child pornography with the intention of making profits.
Investigators said they seized the 39-year-old influencer's Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max as evidence.
Wynne currently remains in custody, according to federal court records.
He made a social media splash from 2022-2024 by using his cellphone's camera to expose abysmal street conditions and open-air drug markets around the city. Videos posted on his social media profiles racked up thousands of views.
Wynne is no stranger to falling on the wrong side of the law. He previously served jail time for drug dealing.
Hard lessons learned from his previous life as a drug addict motivated him to get clean and expose crime in the city, he said. KRON4 interviewed Wynne for news stories about the fentanyl epidemic in San Francisco, a wild carjacking caught on camera, and when he sought a job at City Hall. Just two months before his arrest, the influencer appeared at a campaign rally for Mayor Daniel Lurie.
In a 2023 interview, Wynne told KRON4, "I changed my life and am trying to do something good for the community. (San Franciscans) need to stand up for our city. By running away, you don't do anything."
