While it was anyone's guess going into the broadcast on Monday, March 17, which of the awards Swift was nominated for she would take home, one win was for certain: The radio conglomerate would be crowning her record-breaking Eras Tour with a very special title: Tour of the Century.
It was unclear what the award would entail. However, iHeartRadio previously revealed that it would include "an exclusive performance" from the first night of the Eras Tour would premiere during the telecast—sparking theories among fans that Swift may have something else up her sleeve.
Instead, it was a performance of her 2020 song "Mirrorball" from that first concert. Fans on social media who were anxiously awaiting her at the awards ceremony had mixed reactions, with many gushing about the meaningful performance and others sharing their disappointment that it was not new, behind-the-scenes footage that would coincide with an announcement for an Eras Tour documentary.
In addition to the special honor, Swift was nominated for nine other awards at Monday's ceremony: Best Collaboration, Best Music Video and Best Lyrics for “Fortnight" featuring Post Malone, Favorite Tour Style for the Eras Tour, Favorite On Screen for her concert film The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version), Pop Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year, and new categories Favorite Surprise Guest—for Travis Kelce's Eras Tour appearance—and Favorite Tour Tradition, which Swift has two chances to win with: the “22” hat and her surprise songs.
