Evans police are investigating two separate shootings earlier this month that happened less than a quarter-mile apart.
The first shooting happened March 2 on San Juan Circle. The second shooting happened Friday morning on Whitney Way, according to a police department Facebook post. The two blocks are about 1,000 feet from each other as the crow flies, according to Google Maps. Due to the proximity of the two incidents — as well as the similarities between them — police believe the two shootings are related.
In the March 2 case, Evans police responded to reports of several gunshots heard around 9:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of San Juan Circle. When officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the area and several bullet holes in a house that had been targeted, according to the post.
Police say nobody was hit or injured in the shooting.
On Friday, Evans police were dispatched around 1 a.m. to several reports of shots fired, this time in the 3800 block of Whitney Way.
