The proposal includes a “red” list of 11 countries whosecitizens would be completely banned from entering the US. These countries areAfghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria,Venezuela, and Yemen.
Wealthy business travellers might still be allowed entry, but people applying for immigrant or tourist visas would face stricterscrutiny. These countries include Russia, Belarus, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar,Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Turkmenistan, Eritrea, and South Sudan.
Notably, Iraq is not included in the new list, a significantchange from the first term of former President Donald Trump, when the countrywas included in a similar travel ban.
