The Catfish host — who will be running the LA Charity Half Marathon on Sunday, March 16, as an Achilles guide for participants with disabilities — got candid about some "lingering" issues he's experienced since breaking his neck last August while chatting exclusively with Parade about all things running.
"I still have some nerve — I don't wanna call it pain — but it's like sensitivity and irritation in my hands, which I'm told can take a year or sometimes longer to fully go away, hopefully," he tells Parade. "It doesn't really affect me. It's just uncomfortable sometimes if I touch something cold or wash my hands. It just feels a little weird, sort of [like] pins and needles."
Schulman goes on to explain that although his neck is still not "fully" back to "100 percent mobility and strength," he's "pretty close," and that focusing on "full body fitness" like strengthening his core and "doing mobility stuff with my ankles" has helped his recovery process.

Schulman also tells Parade why it is so important to him to run as a guide, which he's done in multiple marathons. Additionally, runners participating in Sunday's race are raising money for The McCourt Foundation, whose mission is to find cures for neurological diseases while empowering communities.
He adds: "For me it feels way more fulfilling if I've made a friend and provided a service to someone who needs it and then even more so, shed some light on or highlight a program or athlete or organization that is doing good work and needs more support."
