AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police are investigating the cause of a car crash in north Austin that sent a police officer to the hospital.
APD said the officer will undergo surgery for his injuries later Tuesday but will be OK.
Police say the crash happened just before 10 p.m. Monday on North Lamar Boulevard near Thurmond Street and Jamestown Drive.
According to APD, the officer was going to a call when the crash occurred. The officer was not in a pursuit at the time, APD said.
The crash involved three cars, APD said. One of the other drivers was taken to a local hospital. APD said they have non-life-threatening injuries. APD said no one was hurt in the third vehicle.
