Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner won't be taking part in the T20I matches against the Men In Green. Hence, a new captain has been named for the series.
Bracewell, who was one of the stars of New Zealand's successful ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, has been named as the skipper for the Pakistan T20I series.
The major names who will be missing the matches due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) commitments are Mitchell Santner, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra and Bevon Jacobs.

Speaking about getting the leadership, Michael Bracewell stated that he is quite honoured and privileged. He elaborated:
"Mitch Santner's done a great job since taking over as white-ball captain and I'll really just be trying to build on his good work and create an enjoyable environment for the guys to perform in."
"Pakistan are always a dangerous short-form side with lots of power and pace and we know they'll be hurting after an early exit in the Champions Trophy," he said.
