During his audition, judge Carrie Underwood thought he looked familiar, which is when it was revealed that he was Brian’s son. Carrie had been a big fan of the Backstreet Boys when she was a teen, but it was actually Luke Bryan who invited Brian in to duet with his son on the chorus of Baylee’s original song.

“Obviously growing up in the industry a lot of people would look at that as such a perk,” an emotional Brian said on the show. “But it’s not easy. I’ve always told everybody that he’s ten times more talented than I ever was.”
Baylee’s mom Leighanne was also there to share in the moment. That night, Brian posted his congratulations to Baylee on Instagram.

And Baylee was equally proud of himself. He posted, “And the journey begins! Feeling incredibly grateful for all the love and support y’all have shown me over the last 24 hours.
