CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Sunset Road has reopened after a crash involving a box truck took the life of one person, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).
The incident was first reported around 2:20 a.m. on Friday, March 7, on Sunset Road near Statesville Road. One person was pronounced dead by Emergency Medical Services at the site of the crash, the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic) reports.
Around 3:30 a.m., CMPD announced that Sunset Road was closed in both directions. Drivers were asked to avoid the area. The road reopened around 6:45 a.m.
Authorities have not said what led up to the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
This crash happened about two hours after another fatal crash on The Plaza.
