The Los Angeles Chargers released veteran edge rusher Joey Bosa on Wednesday, a week before free agency is set to begin.
Bosa, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, joins the list of edge rushers that the pass-rush needy Arizona Cardinals could target in free agency. He spent nine years with the Chargers, who used the No. 3 overall pick to select the rusher in 2016.
The Chargers save $25.36 million in cap space with the move.
This past season was Bosa’s healthiest of the last three years, as he played in 14 games, starting nine, and totaled five sacks and 22 tackles.
