Always on the hunt for the latest and greatest in new candy finds, @snackolator took to Instagram this week to share with viewers an exciting new offering from both Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish. , which has surpassed over 8,000 likes in just 24 hours, is jam-packed with confused and excited comments alike, as both candy offerings receive a glow-up that nobody saw coming.
“2025 has officially snapped because we are getting Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish that GLOW,” @snackolator began the caption of their post. “Coming soon are new Glow-Ups from Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish that actually glow when they are under blacklight.”
Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish Mini Glow Ups are set to hit shelves this year with a tropical Strawberry Watermelon flavor caked with edible confetti that glows under a blacklight. The confetti, however, is what's causing a lot of misinformed discourse in the comment section, as fans struggle to wrap their heads around an edible ingredient that glows under a blacklight.

Confusion over the properties of turmeric aside, this glow-in-the-dark idea is actually pretty incredible and we’d love to see other candy brands follow suit with their own versions. “So cool,” another commenter wrote, “turmeric is actually really good for you, what a cool idea.”
Just like other colorful plant-based foods, turmeric is rich in phytonutrients, which work to protect the body by neutralizing pollution and sunlight and shielding your cells from damage. In general, diets that are heavy with plant-based foods can help protect conditions such as cancer or heart disease.
As of right now, the official release of the new Glow Up snacks is currently unknown. However, we will keep you updated as further news develops. In the meantime, start worrying about which flavor you’ll be stocking up on upon release day. We’ve got our eyes on the Sour Patch Kids.
