Resurrection Christian 77, Windsor Charter 43, in Keenesburg: In a rematch of the two top-ranked teams in Class 3A — and possibly a state championship game preview — Resurrection Christian once again came out on top rather easily. After topping the Firebirds 59-42 on Jan. 28, Res looked even better the second time around in the Class 3A Patriot League Tournament. Resurrection Christian (23-0) is now responsible for both of Windsor Charter’s (21-2) losses.
Union Colony 57, Front Range Christian 48, in Highlands Ranch: The Wolverines continued their strong play to end the season, notching their fourth-straight win in their final game of the Class 3A/2A/1A Mile High League Tournament. The win moves Union Colony over .500 at 12-11 on the season.
Strasburg 76, University 66, in Keenesburg: The Bulldogs continued their late-season skid, dropping their third-straight game in final round of the Class 4A Patriot League Tournament. After University took a 10-point lead after one quarter, Strasburg erupted for 29 points in the second and never looked back. The loss drops University to 16-7 on the season.
Highland 43, Liberty Common 36: After falling behind in the first quarter, the Huskies outscored Liberty Common by 10 in the second period and never looked back. With the win, Highland (17-6) avenged a loss to Sterling earlier in the week.
Estes Park 55, Dayspring Christian 35, in Denver: Dayspring couldn’t overcome a low-scoring second quarter in the loss in the last game of the Class 3A/2A/1A Mile High League Tournament. The defeat drops Dayspring to 9-14 on the season.
Briggsdale 61, Hi-Plains 25, in Sterling: The Falcons made easy work of the Class 1A North Central League Tournament, sweeping their slate and capping off the weekend by doubling up Hi-Plains. A 22-6 second quarter sparked the run for the Falcons, moving them to 8-15 on the year.
Idalia 40, Prairie 37, in Sterling: The Mustangs lost an absolute heartbreaker in the final round of the Class 1A North Central League Tournament. Idalia proved too much for Prairie, knocking off the Mustangs in triple overtime to drop Prairie’s record to 12-11.
Girls basketball
University 50, Resurrection Christian 38, in Keenesburg: In a matchup of the top team in Class 4A and the top team in Class 3A, University came out on top in a win for larger schools everywhere . The Bulldogs stayed undefeated at 23-0 and handed Resurrection Christian (21-2) just its second loss on the year. After Res built a five-point lead in the first quarter, the Bulldogs erupted in the second period to pull ahead and stay there.
Windsor 63, Severance 27, in Windsor: Much like the first time the two teams played, Windsor methodically dismantled the Silver Knights in the first round of the Class 5A state tournament. No. 30 Severance closes its season at 8-17 in a tough region. Windsor (20-4) will continue on, hosting No. 19 Falcon on Wednesday.

No. 4 Roosevelt (21-3) continues its quest for a third-straight state title Wednesday when the Roughriders host No. 20 George Washington (16-8).

Northridge (16-8) will have their work cut out for them when they play again Wednesday, heading down near Colorado Springs to take on top-seeded Air Academy (23-0).
Durango 52, Greeley Central 29, in Durango: The Wildcats season came to an end Saturday, with a hard-fought loss to No. 8 Durango on the western slope. No. 25 Central finished the season 13-12, with wins over Northridge and Greeley West this year.

After losing by 21 points on Jan. 10, Highland (16-7) flipped the script to top Eaton by eight in the rematch. Sophomore Courtney Steinkamp put up a noble effort to keep the Reds (15-8) in the game, scoring 23 points on 16-of-22 shooting from the free throw line.
Flatirons Academy 37, Dayspring Christian 26, in Denver: Flatirons smothering defense proved too much for the Eagles. With the loss, Dayspring dropped all three games in the Class 3A/2A/1A Mile High League Tournament, falling to 10-13.
Briggsdale 31, Hi-Plains 22, in Sterling: Briggsdale topped Hi-Plains in its last game of the Class 1A North Central League Tournament behind a monstrous performance by senior Kayl Klem. Klem pulled down 19 rebounds, nabbed eight steals and dished out five assists to go along with nine points. The win moves the Falcons to 16-6 on the year.
Prairie 60, Arickaree 43, in Sterling: Prarie (13-10) won its last game of the Class 1A North Central League Tournament behind big performances by senior Aubrey Shipman, freshman Molly Walker and sophomore Hannah Kugler. Shipman scored 20, while Walker and Kugler each added 16 — good for all but eight of the Mustangs’ 60 points.
Bishop Machebeuf 39, Union Colony 35, in Highlands Ranch: Union Colony couldn’t overcome a slow start, dropping its final game in the Class 3A/2A/1A Mile High League Tournament. Union Colony (9-12) mounted a noble comeback effort in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t quite top the Buffaloes.
