Coastal North Bay including Point Reyes National Seashore, San Francisco Peninsula Coast and Southern Monterey Bay and Big Sur Coast as well as San Francisco County are included in an updated beach hazards statement issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 8:35 a.m. The statement is in effect until 9 a.m.
The NWS San Francisco CA states to expect, “A long period westerly swell will result in an increased risk of sneaker waves and rip currents with breaking waves up to 20 feet.”
“Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion,” the NWS said. “Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.”
