Cool, Rainy Weekend in Forecast for San Diego Region ...Middle East

The weather in San Diego County this weekend will be cooler, with a chance of rain and even mountains snow by Sunday night, the National Weather Service said Friday.

“A weakening incoming low-pressure system is expected to bring cooler, windier, and wetter conditions for late tonight into Saturday,” the agency said. “This initial system will quickly be followed by an additional system Sunday night into Monday which will keep cooler, cloudier, windier, and wet conditions.

Highs on Saturday will be 61 to 66 along the coast, 62 to 65 in the western valleys, 55 to 60 near the foothills, 50 to 60 in the mountains and 73 to 78 in the deserts.

The weather service estimated the chance of rain at 20% to 30% on Saturday, rising to 70% by Sunday night. The snow level is expected to drop to 4,500 feet.

At the beaches, a series of west-northwest swells will bring surf of 4-7 feet Sunday through Monday, with local sets to 8 feet in southern San Diego County and on west-facing beaches, along with high rip current risk.
