The 44-year-old "Mirrors" artist was scheduled to perform at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday, Feb. 27 as part of his ongoing Forget Tomorrow World Tour. But moments before the show was supposed to start, Timberlake shared the difficult news that he had to cancel the evening's appearance.
"You guys. I’m heartbroken," the *NSYNC member began in a short text post shared to both his Facebook and Instagram pages. "I have to cancel the show tonight."
"I went into soundcheck battling the flu and now it’s gotten the best of me," he wrote. "It kills me to disappoint you and my team who worked so hard to make this show happen."
"I love you all," the Grammy winner concluded.
Nationwide Arena re-posted Timberlake's message to its official social media pages on Thursday evening but did not offer any further information on when exactly ticketholders could expect a refund.
