Float submissions for the 2025 Greeley Stampede Independence Day Parade will be taken now through May.
This year’s parade theme is “Celebrating our Independence,” and parade officials want this year’s floats to be made with classic materials such as chicken wire, paper mache, tissue paper and other classics.
“We appreciate all the trucks and tractors that contribute to the parade’s charm,” Greeley Stampede Parades Chairman Stephen Walker said in a news release. “This year, we want you to elevate the Greeley Stampede Parade to new heights and celebrate the craftsmanship and artistry of traditional floats.”
The entry fee is $80 until Thursday, March 27, for a traditional-sized float of up to 80 feet. It’s $20 for every additional 10 feet of extra length. The maximum size for any float is 160 feet.
The fee is $100 from Friday, March 28 until Sunday, June 1. All float entries after June 1 will have to be approved by Walker. If approved, the fee will be $125.
There will be five award float categories: Best Marching Band, Most Patriotic, University of Northern Colorado Community Fan Pick Award, Ebba Mae Granat Memorial Parade Fund and Best Overall Float Prize.
The community will vote for one of the top 15 floats on Facebook after the parade for the UNC Community Fan Pick Award.
The Ebba Mae Granat Memorial Parade Fund award goes to the best marching band or 4H youth entry. The winner will receive a $1,000 donation.
Last year’s winners were the Colorado Masonic High School Marching Band (Best Marching Band), Roche Constructors, Inc. (Best Overall Float), iHeart Media (The Patriot Award), Culver’s (Ebba Mae Granat Award) and Greeley-Evans School District 6 Transportation (UNC Community Fan Pick).
