SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The Civic Center BART station was closed Monday morning due to a 'major medical emergency,' according to Bay Area Rapid Transit officials. Typically, a "major medical emergency" on BART implies that someone has died.

Kennedy Center appearance for Bay Area performing arts group abruptly canceled

BART is reporting a major delay from downtown SF to all destinations. Red line service between Richmond and Millbrae, and Green Line service between Embarcadero and Daly City is currently suspended, BART said.

Muni is providing service in downtown San Francisco between the Embarcadero and Civic Center stations.
