New Jacksonville Jaguars’ general manager James Gladstone met with the media at the NFL combine on Tuesday.

– At this stage of the process, Gladstone says when meeting with prospects, they go over film and terminology within the offense.
– “This is a great opportunity,” said Gladstone about the combine for the Jaguars’ coaching staff and scouts to have discussions about the current roster, free agency, and the draft.
– “He’s an elite communicator,” said Gladstone about Liam Coen. Adding the marriage between the run and the passing game and the screen game are things that stand out schematically.
– “I like it all,” said Gladstone about this year’s draft class.
– Gladstone says he can see a clear vision ahead with the Jaguars because there is overlap with the Rams and where he’s spent his career.
– Gladstone says they’ll prioritize the trenches and positions that put up points.
– “The talent that exists on this team is better than the record,” said Gladstone of the Jaguars winning four games last season.
– “I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Trevor,” Gladstone says. He adds the need for good protection from the offensive line and comfortable with the pass catchers.
– “I can say at this point in time we’re happy to have Christian (Kirk).”
– Gladstone says that addressing the interior offensive line is important to putting the quarterback in a position to succeed.
– “It certainly feels like it’s a shift,” said Gladstone about the emergence of running backs recently, and it’s something they’ll prioritize. “I think it’s a very deep running back class.”
– “We’ll be urgent and explosive,” Gladstone said about the defense.
