Ripa got dressed up like Ariana Grande's Wicked character, Glinda, for a video that's going to open Live with Kelly and Mark's annual After the Oscars Show. And while Consuelos also had a Wicked-themed makeover (he plays Fiyero in the segment), Ripa's transformation was so successful that he thought his wife was actually Grande at first.
As Consuelos told People, he got a call from Ripa's assistant telling him that his wife wanted him to say hello to Grande over FaceTime (but it was really Ripa in full Glinda makeup).
"It was very funny because I could see he was secretly annoyed and doing that fake nice thing at first," Ripa recalled. "He was like, 'Oh my gosh, hiiiii!.' And then once I spoke, his face totally changed and he was like, 'Wait a minute...'" she added.
According to Ripa, her husband wasn't the only person she was able to trick.

Ripa and Consuelos will host Live's After the Oscars Show from the Dolby Theatre stage in Los Angeles on Monday, March 3, the morning after the Academy Awards. The program will include the couple's interviews with winners directly after receiving their trophies.
"They're very kind to us," Ripa revealed. "And this year in particular, we seem to know so many people involved, so we feel a very strong connection to this year's show. It's going to be a fun night."
