AMERICAN diners can now take advantage of a highly-anticipated collaboration between Applebee’s and IHOP.
The two restaurant chains will be accessible under the same roof for food and drinks at any time of day.

The company completed the project in partnership with franchisee Ramzi Hakim Group, with signs on the outside of the structure for both Applebee’s and IHOP, along with signature logos and color patterns.
Additionally, on the inside, there are two “distinct” dining areas, according to the release.
On one side is Applebee’s “warm, familiar atmosphere,” and the other features IHOP’s “bright, cheerful ambiance.”
Only the host stand and bathrooms are shared areas, and the kitchen and back-of-house are also combined for better efficiency.
Dine Brands Global sought to strike a balance between maintaining the signature feel of each restaurant while still having them complimentary to one another.
This was further emphasized by John Payton, CEO of Dine Brands.
“For decades, Applebee’s and IHOP have been places where friends gather, families celebrate, and careers begin,” Payton noted in the release.
“Now, with our dual-branded restaurant, we are combining the strengths of both brands to create a unique and innovative dining experience that offers choice, variety, and value to guests.”

The menu itself also includes a wide variety of options customers have come to know and love from both restaurants.
“IHOP restaurant guests can enjoy all the classics from IHOP’s world-famous pancakes and breakfast offerings to Applebee’s fan-favorite boneless wings, burgers, and appetizers from morning to late night,” the release noted.
Customers can even take advantage of new and “exclusive menu items.”
They include offerings like the Buffalo Chicken Omelette and the Ultimate Breakfast Burger.
These two are only available at dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP, not any of the individual locations nationwide.

COMING SOON
At least 14 more are coming specifically to the US, for a total of 15 by the end of 2026.
Dine Brands Global said the additional 14 would be a combination of brand-new restaurants built and old single-branded locations being refurbished and updated.
Payton noted in a November earnings call that the company expects at least 12 of the dual-branded Applebee’s and IHOP restaurants to be finished by the end of this year.
Executives found that the dual-branded locations had been bringing in around 1.5 to two times the sales of standalone locations under either banner.
With the implementation of more dual-branded spots, Dine Brands Global predicts sales will be considerably boosted.
During the last few months of 2024, Applebee’s and IHOP’s sales fell by 5.9% and 2.1%, respectively.
KFC also recently opened a spin-off restaurant to compete with brands like Raising Cane’s.
Taco Bell did something similar in California recently with the Live Más Cafe.
