North County residents saw extra traffic and law enforcement activity over the weekend when Vice President JD Vance visited San Diego, apparently to attend a wedding.
Secret Service agents blocked off the street in front of the Seabird Resort in Oceanside for the event.

Vance attended the wedding on the heels of a trip to Munich, Germany, during which he expressed support for the European far right and met with Alice Weidel, the co-leader and candidate for chancellor of the far-right, anti-immigrant Alternative for Germany party, his office said.
Mainstream German parties say they won’t work with the party, a stance often referred to as a “firewall.” Polls put Alternative for Germany, or AfD, in second place going into the Feb. 23 election with about 20% support.
