According to reports, two women were shot and injured near the Super Bowl parade route of the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, 2 women (ages 27 and 20) were shot on Benjamin Franklin Parkway, per Philadelphia Police Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore. The individuals were shot by a man wearing an Eagles jersey, and both victims are in stable condition.

Both victims were shot in the legs, according to police, during a fight that occurred over the lines to use the porta-potties on hand. The individuals were taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition. The shooting remains under investigation.

The shooting is an ugly incident during what was supposed to be an afternoon of celebration for the city following a 2nd Super Bowl title for the Eagles franchise. It also follows one year to the date of a similar shooting in Kansas City.

Toward the end of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade last Feb. 14, police reported shots were fired near Union Station. In that event, 23 people were shot with 22 injured and one fatality.

Hopefully, both individuals in the Philadelphia incident will make a complete recovery and back on their feet before long.
