Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers are currently the No. 1 ranked team in the country, with their only losses being to Duke and Florida. The Tigers have the biggest game of the weekend as they travel to take on instate rival, Alabama.
Not only is it a big rivalry, but these 2 teams are currently the top 2 ranked teams in the country. This game has implications when it comes to the SEC, as well as potentially a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Pearl has a ton of respect for what Alabama coach Nate Oats has built since he became the head guy in Tuscaloosa.

They do a phenomenal job of recruiting and evaluating talent. Their team is getting better throughout the year. I think Alabama is the deepest and most talented team in our league. They are playing great right now. I want to beat Alabama more than anyone else on our schedule because that is my rival.”
This is the first time the 2 teams play, and they will face each other again at Auburn in March.
