More than 300 flights delayed, a dozen canceled as winter weather hits DIA ...Middle East

More than 300 flights at Denver International Airport were delayed by winter weather on Wednesday and another handful were canceled.

DIA saw just over an inch of snow stack up overnight Tuesday, but temperatures struggled to reach the double digits during the day Wednesday. The airport is forecast to see a high of 12 degrees Wednesday afternoon, but it could feel as cold as minus 5 with windchill, forecasters said.

As of 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, 315 flights had failed to leave DIA’s gates on time and 17 were canceled entirely, according to flight tracking software FlightAware.

United and its regional airline, Skywest, delayed the most flights on Wednesday for a combined total of 182 delays. Southwest trailed behind with 97 delays.

American Airlines, Air Canada, Envoy Air, Frontier, Delta, Key Lime Air and Southern Airways Express all delayed flights during the winter weather.

Southwest also had six flights canceled, followed by United with five and American Airlines with three. SkyWest, Air Canada and Envoy Air all canceled one.
