Interviews are underway for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ general manager opening. But could an experienced former NFL GM be added to that list?
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Jaguars have “formally expressed interest” in interviewing a former NFL general manager.
Anderson did not provide a specific name for who this person might be and at this time, no formal interview has been set.
I’m told that the #Jaguars have formally expressed interest in interviewing a former NFL GM for their current vacancy, per sources.

As of now, we know that these individuals are the Jaguars’ candidates for the general manager role:
– Ian Cunningham, Bears assistant GM
– Chad Alexander, Chargers assistant GM
– Ethan Waugh, Jaguars assistant GM
– Trey Brown, Bengals senior personnel executive
– Brandon Brown, Giants assistant GM
– James Gladston, Rams Director of Scouting
– Josh Williams, 49ers Director of Scouting and Football Operations
– Terrance Gray, Bills Director of Player Personnel
Now, as far as who this mystery experienced GM candidate could be, one name that was brought up by Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer almost two weeks ago–before the Jaguars formally requested any interviews–was former Titans’ GM Jon Robinson.
“I think if you want a guy who knows the division, who understands the dynamics of a market like Jacksonville, who’s really strong on the college side and has a good track record of setting up a department and leading, I think Jon Robinson would be a strong candidate. I think he will be in the mix for the job,” Breer said.
Robinson was the Titans’ GM from 2016 through most of the 2022 season before being fired. The Titans had a record of 66-48 during that stretch. They made the playoffs four times and reached the AFC Championship Game once.
As of now, this is all just speculation. We will have to wait and see if another candidate is added to the Jaguars’ interview list over the next.
