ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Malik D. Evans was selected as the candidate for Mayor by the Monroe County Democratic Committee on Saturday morning.

Mayor Evans won the party’s nomination on the first ballot. He was the top vote-getter of Democrats citywide.

In his acceptance speech, Mayor Evans reiterated his priorities including violence reduction, youth development, housing, economic empowerment, and strengthening neighborhoods.
