GREG OLSEN has clarified his comments amid doubts over his Fox future.
The fan-favorite broadcaster was demoted to No2 after NFL legend Tom Brady took his spot, signing a ten-year deal worth $375million.
GettyGreg Olsen has opened up on his Fox future[/caption]In a recent interview, Olsen, 39, revealed he is desperate to call the biggest games in sport once again.
The former tight end admitted it is “hard to sit there and watch games that over the last couple of years you were preparing for” and that his “goal is to get back there”.
His remarks led to suggestions he could leave Fox.
But Olsen ensures he still has a positive relationship with them, telling The Charlotte Observer: “I’ve called a Super Bowl once, I want to call them again.
“That should not be Earth-shattering, headline news for anyone.
“My aspirations of taking this from day one back in 2021 when I started to today have not changed. I want to call great games.
“My personal aspirations are completely independent and disconnected from my relationship with Fox.
“My relationship with Fox, and Tom [Brady], and Erin [Burnett], and Kevin [Burkhardt], those are my friends and I want to see them succeed.
“My relationship with Fox is positive. They know where I stand.
“They’ve encouraged me to have high aspirations. They’ve encouraged me to try to be as good as I possibly can.
“So I think some of my comments about wanting to call top games, wherever that is and however that plays out, come across that I want to leave Fox and I hate Fox. That is not true.
“I’m on the record right now and I probably need to do a better job communicating… no resentment or animosity towards the people at Fox.”
