Former Alabama running back Josh Jacobs has been a strong performer across his first 6 NFL seasons. Unfortunately, he has yet to be in the Super Bowl, and that’s not going to change this season.
In fact, Jacobs sat down with Dan Patrick for an interview on Friday ahead of Super Bowl weekend, and the star RB made a startling claim about the big game. That would be Jacobs’s admission that he hasn’t even watched the Super Bowl since he was in middle school.
“I couldn’t tell you the last Super Bowl I watched,” Jacobs informed the radio host. “The last Super Bowl I watched was probably middle school. Honestly, so I couldn’t tell you.”

Considering the magnitude of the game and the many casual observers that tune in, hearing a star player admit he doesn’t watch is a bit surprising. It seems Jacobs probably gets his fill of football from being on the field all season long, including a Pro Bowl performance for his first season with the Green Bay Packers.
As for a pick in the game, Jacobs admitted he’s rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles because of some teammates of his from his time at Alabama. Jacobs was a member of the 2017 national championship team that also included Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith, key pieces for the Philadelphia offense.
However, Josh Jacobs knows better than to pick against Patrick Mahomes, a player he saw twice a year regularly during his time with the Las Vegas Raiders.
“I’ve got a lot of teammates that are on the Eagles, so I’m rooting for them. But at the same time, I’ve played against Patrick Mahomes twice (a season) basically my whole career, and I wouldn’t bet against him,” said Jacobs.
