Fans Were 'Unprepared' for Emotional In Memoriam Segment at 2025 Grammys ...Saudi Arabia

During the 67th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 2, the presentation included an emotional segment to honor the stars the industry lost this year, and fans watching at home said they were "unprepared" by how moving the presentation was. 

The poignant tribute—performed by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin—began with a dedication to former One Direction member Liam Payne, who died at 31 in October 2024.

"Them playing Story of My Life while previewing the in memoriam segment dear christ no im unprepared," someone else wrote. 

"rest in peace," several users wrote online during Sunday's ceremony in honor of Payne's legacy. 

Earlier in the evening was a tribute to Quincy Jones following the legendary musician's death at age 91 in November 2024. That tribute included performances from Stevie Wonder, Cynthia Erivo, Lainey Wilson, Janelle Monáe, and Herbie Hancock.
