Popeyes Divides Fans With New ‘Fast Food Super Bowl’ Menu Lineup ...Saudi Arabia

Beloved foodfluencer Snackolator said the chicken joint has already "won the Fast Food Super Bowl" with a series of new menu offerings made in partnership with alcohol-brand Don Julio, hitting select Popeyes locations tomorrow, Jan. 31—and leaving just as quickly. 

Folks near the flagship New Orleans location on Canal Street, however, will have through the Super Bowl on Feb. 9—or as long as supplies last—to try out the imbibed—if only by name—options, though many fans feel the lack of tequila is false advertising.

"How imma drink a mocktail? Put that reposado in there ?," another demanded, with someone else declaring that the release "completely missed every mark im sorry."

The Popeyes x Tequila Don Julio Reposado Flavored Concha Chicken Sandwich features a chicken breast fillet marinated in reposado tequila before being fried in Popeyes' crunchy buttermilk breading. It's said to be topped with a tequila lime slaw, a spicy spread, and a barrel-cured pickle between a sweet and buttery concha roll. The wings appear to emulate the same flavor with a specialty sauce for dipping.
