Fried rice originated in China more than 1,000 years ago during the Sui Dynasty as a way to repurpose leftover rice. It quickly spread across Asia, with each culture adding unique ingredients and it remains a beloved, adaptable dish worldwide. 

To make it, you'll need rice, eggs, salt, sugar, oil, garlic, scallions, frozen peas, soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil, chicken bouillon powder and ground white pepper. 

Tips For Making Perfect Fried Rice

Andy said you always want to start with cool rice so it doesn't clump as you fry it and that's a great tip to have!  

Heat the wok and scramble your eggs with salt, sugar and oil. Cook the eggs in more oil in the wok, then transfer them to a bowl and set aside. 

Add the sauce and stir it well, then add the frozen peas and the egg. Finish it off with some scallion greens and you have a quick, delicious dinner that everyone will love!
