THE NFL has issued a fine to Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey for his helmet hit on Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen earlier this month.
Humphrey collided with Allen in the late stages of the Divisional Round game between the Ravens and the Bills on January 19.

As a result, he was not flagged during the game.
However, the NFL‘s disciplinary board went back to review the footage and later issued a punishment.
Humphrey was fined $45,020 for the helmet-on-helmet hit, his second of the season.
He was also forced to pay $22,511 in October for making the same challenge against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Announcing the cornerback’s punishment, the NFL said that Humphrey used: “Unnecessary Roughness (use of the helmet).”
The league has been trying to stamp helmet-on-helmet hits out of the game in recent years.
The Ravens suffered a narrow 27-25 loss to the Bills in the Divisional Round game.
However, the Bills missed out on a Superbowl place on Sunday after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Conference Championships.
The Chiefs will now face the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9.
