Unfortunately for Reese Witherspoon, some of her peers didn’t get that memo.
In a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the Big Little Lies star detailed how one of her past roles gave her a big responsibility that she didn’t expect.
Witherspoon shared that she was “very invested in” the trial, a “dog bite case,” but when the jury went to deliberation and was tasked with selecting a foreman, “they all unanimously” chose her.
Though the Wild star tried to explain that she “definitely didn’t go to law school, I didn’t finish college” the jurors still “fully made me the foreman.”
She then spoke to the group at large, advising, “if you get picked for jury duty, please do it because honestly, some bad stuff goes down in there, y’all.”
“But here’s the deal, this other lady put her hand in a dog fight,” Witherspoon continued. “You can’t do that,” Ferrell noted. “Rule number one, what did your mother tell you? Don’t put your hand in a dog fight,” Witherspoon explained.
Witherspoon and Ferrell star in the upcoming movie You’re Cordially Invited, which hits theaters on Jan. 30. In it, they play a father of the bride (Ferrell) and sister of another bride (Witherspoon) whose weddings get double booked, causing chaos.
