Scan-and-go is an alternative method to standing in long lines waiting for either a cash register or self-checkout machine to come free.

Shoppers scan items and put them in their baskets and carts as they wander up and down the aisles.

Some retailers allow customers to complete transactions via their cell phone, but others do not.

Walmart shoppers can use scan and go but payments must be completed at terminals.

“I don’t see the time savings,” a shopper, known as Braxton, posted on X.

“I still have to bag my groceries and pay for it [sic] at the register.”

But, the scan and go tool means that shoppers don’t have to individually scan items at the kiosk.

Shoppers can look at their entire cart, checking they have everything they need.

Once they’ve selected the checkout option, they must head to a payment terminal.

All shoppers have to do is scan a QR code when they reach the self-checkout.

Scan and go is only available to shoppers inside Walmart supermarkets.

Countless shoppers have complained how they’ve had to wait in lines when using the scan and go feature.

The service is available to Walmart+ shoppers but recent experiences have left customers wondering if it has been worth the money.

“I can scan and go except I need a register at the end to wait in f**n long ass lines,” a shopper, known only as Nicole, said on X.
