Days after their stunning loss to the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round, the Baltimore Ravens are still trying to piece themselves back together. For one, it might be a while before Mark Andrews accepts his fourth-quarter mistakes — even if head coach John Harbaugh has his back.
But the person who should probably still be ruminating most on another Baltimore postseason failure is the electric Lamar Jackson.
Let me be clear: Jackson is one of the three best players of his generation.
He may become a three-time NFL MVP in the coming weeks. His individual resume is unassailable. But even as Jackson put the Ravens in a position to win on Sunday, his two first-half turnovers were simply unacceptable in a tense playoff environment. In a two-point loss, they’re also hard to get over.
The irony of it all? In a new clip from Hard Knocks, Jackson actually wanted the Ravens to practice in the cold leading up to their matchup with the Bills.
It was a good idea, but it clearly didn’t help Jackson (or Andrews) much:

Maybe next time, the Ravens can practice improved ball security and ensure they don’t shrink in the biggest moments of a playoff game. Just a thought.
