He claimed that a ‘lack of communication’ from the Kolkata Knight Riders led to the fallout between them, and eventually, they separated. He said that nobody told him properly about the retention.

Reacting to Iyer's statement, Aakash Chopra asserted that despite numerous discussions between the now-PBKS skipper and the KKR team management, they were unable to reach an agreement, but mostly because of Shreyas.
