DENVER (KDVR) — The very cold temperatures in the Denver weather forecast are nearly at an end.
Monday night will be bitterly cold, but then temperatures will climb above freezing Tuesday afternoon. The Pinpoint Weather team is looking ahead to the next opportunity for snow.
Wind chills could be as cold as 40 degrees below zero or colder in some mountain towns. Weather tonight: Bitterly cold
Frigid cold Monday night, especially in the mountains.Despite low temperatures falling well below zero again, Colorado will actually experience gradual warming over the plains after midnight. Temperatures by sunrise Tuesday should be back into the double digits.
Weather tomorrow: Back above freezing!
Temperatures will be much warmer Tuesday.After spending over 90 hours below freezing, the state will climb back above freezing Tuesday. Highs around Denver will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Looking ahead: Thawing out, but still very chilly
Although Colorado will rise to above freezing starting Tuesday, temperatures will fluctuate during the rest of the week. The mid-week will be back into the 30s, with Friday being the warmest day Denver has had in a while when the weather makes a run at 50 degrees.
Finally warming above freezing for the remainder of the work week.Don't get used to it, though. Next weekend returns to the 20s with a chance of light snow Saturday. Minor accumulations will be possible.
