Jeremiyah Love is still feeling the effects from this knee injury, but he’s optimistic that he will be close to 100% when Notre Dame kicks off against Ohio State on Monday night.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports that Love expects to be “between 90 and 95%” healthy for the national championship game. For context, Love said he was roughly 75% healthy for Notre Dame’s Orange Bowl win over Penn State earlier this month.
Thamel noted that Love could have more of a role in Notre Dame’s passing game as a receiver now that he’s closer to full health.

He led the Irish with 45 rushing yards and had a memorable touchdown run that required multiple broken tackles. Notre Dame will need another big effort from him on Monday evening against Ohio State.
Over at FanDuel, Love’s over/under for rushing yards in this game is 45.5. He splits carries with Jadarian Price, which could have an impact on his final rushing total regardless of how healthy he is.
