Russian state media said that industrial facilities in the southwestern city of Kazan in Tatarstan came under attack overnight on Monday, amid a Ukrainian drone strike that also targeted the Belgorod, Kursk, Ryazan and Oryol regions.
Measures to protect the facilities in Kazan were taken and there were no casualties in the attack, the Tatarstan governor said. “As a result, all the unmanned aerial vehicles were neutralised,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Several aviation plants that play a key role in the Russian military-industrial sector were located in the area, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation – part of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine – said in a Telegram post.

He added that it was becoming “increasingly difficult” for Russia to protect its skies, without elaborating on whether Ukraine was behind the drone attack.
