Australia National Cricket Team are all set to lock horns with Sri Lanka National Cricket Team in the two-match Test series. The series between the teams will begin on 29th January, followed by the second game of the series to be played from 6th February. Both the games will be played at the Galle International Stadium in Galle.
Many reports even suggested that Steve Smith will be missing the series due to the injury. But a couple of days back, Cricket Australia made a statement on the batter, saying that he would be consulting a specialist before any call related to his availability will be taken by the management.
Steve Smith also didn't travel with the Australia National Cricket Team to their training camp in Dubai
The batter, however, has now visited the doctor, who cleared the batter of injury. He will be soon traveling to Dubai for the training camp ahead of the series. However, he won't be batting immediately and will be doing that later in the week.
Smith is expected to return to batting later in the week to begin his preparation for the first Test against Sri Lanka - Cricket Australia
"He has been cleared to rejoin the Test squad and travel to Dubai. Smith is expected to return to batting later in the week to begin his preparation for the first Test against Sri Lanka."
