EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.
Dec. 27
8:45 p.m.: A caller at North 30th Avenue and C Street reported an injured raccoon near the intersection. The caller was worried a pet or child might have tried approaching it.
12:45 p.m.: A caller at 30th Street Road and 17th Avenue reported a man walking down the street looking into cars.
Dec. 28
10:00 a.m.: A caller at a fast-food taco restaurant in the 2400 block of 8th Avenue reported an employee kept coming in really high the past few days and always refused to leave.
Dec. 29
4:15 p.m.: A caller in the 2050 block of Greeley Mall reported a man with a face tattoo was “looking for problems.”
4:30 p.m.: A caller at a pet store in the 2800 block of 35th Avenue reported a squirrel was stuck in the roof. The call-taker recommended the business call a pest control company to set traps.
7:30 p.m.: A caller at 20th Street and 42nd Avenue reported she had donated a box of books earlier in the day and realized she had left her phone in one of the boxes.
10:30 p.m.: A caller in the 1400 block of 24th Avenue reported a teenage girl she didn’t know walked into her house.
Dec. 30
11:45 a.m.: A caller at a restaurant in the 2600 block of 11th Avenue reported a man came into the store, took an employee’s phone and threw it in the street. When the man went back inside, he threw a soda at the employee and called her names before he took off running. Police later found out it was the employee’s ex-boyfriend.
8:00 p.m.: A caller at 13th Street and 13th Avenue had complaints about traffic signs in the city, saying they needed reflective tape on the ones that say “no right on red,” because people weren’t paying attention.
8:00 p.m.: A caller at a store in the 4200 block of Centerplace Drive reported a man who had previously stolen from the store was back and the caller had a sneaking suspicion that he was going to steal again.
11:15 p.m.: A caller at an unknown address reported neighbors pounding on the door and threatening the caller, who said it had been happening since before Christmas. The caller said she usually sees them drinking but thought they were stoned this time.
Dec. 31
12:31 a.m.: A caller at a gas station in the 1400 block of 9th Street reported a man with his pants down was acting strange and refusing to leave.
